With nominations and signups running simultaneously, I know everyone will want their tags approved as quickly as possible. I also know nomination guidelines aren’t the kinky smut most of you came here to read, but please read these ones carefully, as they’re crucial to keep the queue moving. I can approve correctly formatted tags much faster than I can edit incorrect ones, so the time you spend getting yours right will be repaid with shorter wait times for everyone.
1) Do not use AO3’s dropdown ship tags. Type every ship manually, because AO3 defaults do not meet the formatting rules for this exchange and can break the tagset.
2) Disambiguate everything. This means adding the name of the fandom to each ship you nominate, in brackets after the names like so: Dobby/Kreacher (Harry Potter).
3) Check your ships aren’t already in the tagset. Watch out for variants. Neither I nor AO3 will notice if you nominate Gimli/Legolas (LotR) after someone has already nominated Legolas Greenleaf/Gimli son of Gloin (LotR), but it could mess up your matchability.

If you make a mistake I cannot fix, I may need to reject the tag so it doesn’t linger on the console and delay other approvals. If a tag of yours is rejected, don’t panic – it doesn’t mean your ship has been banned from the exchange, just that you must rewrite it to align with these rules. Finally, while I’ll approve tags as often as I can, please allow a half-day or so between when you submit your nominations and when you expect to sign up.
